Aaliyah Dana Haughton, best known as Aaliyah, was an African-American singer, dancer, model and actress. Aaliyah became famous during the mid-1990s with several hit records from the songwriting/production team of Missy Elliott & Timbaland.

Aaliyah is notable for recording several hit records. Aaliyah had a supporting role as Link in the two sequels to The Matrix. Aaliyah had also pitched and signed a deal with Fox Searchlight Pictures for her to star in a film based upon a true story. Aaliyah also modeled for Tommy Hilfiger before dying in the aviation accident in the Bahamas.
