Anggun Cipta Sasmi (born April 29, 1974, in Jakarta) is an Indonesian singer/songwriter with French citizenship. At a young age, Anggun decided to follow in the footsteps of her father, Darto Singo, and become an entertainer. 2 years after leaving Indonesia, in 1996 finally Anggun's international career saw the light of the day. Despite it only spawned one major hit single, Au nom de la lune was a successful album in France. In 1998, Anggun set her eyes on breaking into the North American market. Anggun announced via her official site that she gave birth to her first child, a daughter named Kirana, on November 8, 2007 in France.
