List of currencies
Coins
The main currency in the RIFT are silver, gold and platinum coins. Such a currency is very useful in general, since you can use it to buy all kinds of important things, starting with potions, armor and weapons, ending with crafting materials or even mounts.

There are many sources from which you can get coins, but usually it's killed enemies or completing your quests.
Patronage - PvP

The next currency is favor. Used only in PvP Gear. You can gain favor by killing players from the opposite faction in the open world (only if you play on a PvP server) or by participating in fronts.

Signs - Craft
Next on the list are the Signs, the currency that you get by completing quests that include Craft (Work Assignments) or Creating Rifts (creating your Rifts around the world). The signs are used to buy special recipes from several different Sellers. There are only three kinds of Signs:
Craftsman's Badge
The sign of a master craftsman
The sign of a great master craftsman

Planarite
You get Planarite by closing Rifts or Incursions, as well as completing some quests. You use this currency to buy all kinds of items that are sold at Planar Merchants.

Sources
Sources, like planarite, are a reward for eliminating mass invasions. You can exchange them for high-quality items from certain Sellers.
